I was born and raised in North Carolina, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Social Work, and a minor in Spanish. During college I got really involved in volunteering activities which lead me to the Peace Corps. I also got the travel bug after volunteering in Belize with GlobalSERVE (a UNCW organization), backpacking through Belize, Guatemala and Honduras - spending two weeks in Costa Rica, and a month in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I hope to get even more stamps in my Passport with some of my vacation time from the Peace Corps. I am an urban youth developmental worker in Paraguay, I will be there from Feb. 2007-April of 2009.
